Jason Keatseangsilp

Private Tutor | University of Arizona Tutor

About: Introduction

Welcome! I have been tutoring for 3 years and earned my Expert Tutor certification from the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA). Within the past 3 years, I have amassed over 1,000 hours of tutoring experience helping more than 100 students across eight schools. I currently serve as both a private tutor and an employed tutor at the University of Arizona SALT Center.

Up until high school, I was an average math student. While I was an honors math student, I never made the breakthrough of being a great math student with high marks or results. I desired to break this cycle of being an average math student, so I made one key change in my approach to math in college compared to high school: I hired a math tutor.

Under the guidance of the math tutor, I successfully made this breakthrough, marked by my perfect mathematics minor GPA. My approach as a tutor is to help fill in conceptual gaps and reinforce knowledge in a practical and comfortable way for students. I fundamentally believe each student has the potential for success. I enjoy tutoring, and the feeling of helping students find success through understanding and mastering concepts is very rewarding.

My holistic background as a former engineering student, teaching assistant, Team USA wheelchair athlete, and working with students with learning challenges helped me develop traits of a quality tutor: adaptability, patience, compassion, and perseverance. I have had the pleasure of working with students of all abilities ranging from students with learning challenges to National Merit Scholar students. I would love the opportunity to work with you.

Thank you for your consideration,

Jason
